Partouche Poker Tour Day 2 – 101 players remain

Thursday, 15 September 2011

After Day 2, the Partouche Poker Tour Main Event has reduced the field from 579 players to 101, with 63 paid which means Day 3 – today – will be when the bubble bursts. The top 63 players are guaranteed at least €12,000 with the winner going home a million Euro richer.

Still in contention for the final table and that top prize are some big names – Freddy Deeb, Joe Cassidy and Michael Tureniec all survived with above-average stacks while WSOPE champion James Bord and Sam Trickett are both around the middle of the back. Also returning for Day 3 are Olivier Busquet and Marcello Marigliano.

Oleksil Kovalchuk leads the field into Day 3 with a monstrous stack of 892,500 – nearly double the stack of second place Juan Maceiras Lapido. That’s good for hundreds of big blinds when play kicks off today.
