Pablo Baldur wins Paradise Poker Tour Madrid

Tuesday, 3 May 2011

Pablo Baldur was the toast of Madrid last night after taking down the latest leg of the Paradise Poker Tour.

The Spaniard sealed the victory after a marathon final day which eventually drew to a close at 5am. Baldur, alongside Jose Luiz Lopez, Raul Magdaleno and Jose Maria Somolinos agreed to chop while play was four-handed but played on for the title and an extra €4,000 with Baldur sealing the title by making a great call with Q5 on a 7K522 board.

“It’s really nice to have won because I live in Madrid – this is my casino – and I’m not really a tournament player.” said the delighted winner, “This was just a bit of fun to be honest and it’s been just that, not just because I won but also because I played with friends along the way. I’m a professional cash game player right now but I enjoy tournaments, they make a nice break from the routine. If I can travel playing tournaments as well – that’s even better!”

The Paradise Poker Tour returns to Spain for the Grand Final in Barcelona from 28 to 31 July. Qualifiers are up and running at ParadisePoker.com.
