The ninth series of events in this year’s PKR Live comes to London’s Aspers Casino this weekend and for the first time ever will feature a mixed-max format.
The $500 buy-in main event is to comprise an opening session that will see players compete first in a no-limit hold‘em format on nine-handed tables. For those that make it through, the event’s structure will switch to a six-handed layout before the final 16 players compete in a series of heads-up matches on the third day.Player seeds in the final 16 are to be based on the amount of chips they've accumulate up to that point, mirroring a structure first piloted by the World Series Of Poker (WSOP) in 2011.On top of the main event, which is to be capped at 243 players, PKR Live will also feature a range of side events including a $35 buy-in turbo tournament as well as a £110 buy-in deep stack event. Each game will take place inside the plush surroundings of the Olympic Park casino between March 28 and March 30 and anyone still looking to qualify can do so at PKR for as little as $0.35.
