The Bahamas will be the centre of the poker universe over the next week as the 2016 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) tournament series sets sail.
Traditionally one of the first major live poker tournament series of the year, the latest incarnation from PokerStars is set to start in style from tomorrow courtesy of a $100,000 buy-in super high-roller event with unlimited re-entries.All told, there will be 104 tournaments on offer at the Atlantis At Paradise Island Resort And Casino near Nassau from January 6 to 14 including the inaugural edition of a special blackjack contest.Top of the bill at the PCA will surely be the $5,300 buy-in main event, which is set to get underway from January 8 before finishing six days later. American player Kevin Schulz outlasted 815 other runners to take down this marquee game last year and pocket $1,491,580.Last year’s PCA also saw Ilkin Garibli and Joe Kuether emerge as big winners with the pair both bagging million-dollar prizes thanks to the high-roller event while Steve O'Dwyer and Roger Sippl soon followed suit via the super high-roller game.Railbirds not able to make it to the Caribbean can still follow all of the action live including the latest from the opening day's super high-roller via PokerStars TV.
