After five days of action, Nicolas Proust has topped a field of 1,809 runners to clinch the €550 ($592) buy-in main event of the PokerListings.com Battle Of Malta.
The 29-year-old is now richer to the tune of €110,000 ($118,562) after winning the no-limit hold‘em main event hosted by professional poker player Maria Ho following a three-handed deal involving Henrik Jacobsen and Hendrik Koops.However, Proust was not the biggest winner at the Portomaso Casino as Dutch pro Koops, who was in the lead when the ICM-based chop was agreed, walked away with €125,000 ($134,673) despite being eliminated in third.The final action encompassed only one hand and saw Proust with pocket 4s go up against the KJ of Jacobsen.
