New 50/50 tournament at the Western Club tonight

If the prospect of a dreary 90 minutes watching England grind out a 0-0 draw in Poland doesn't tickle your fancy then get yourself down to the Western Club for something that should be much more entertaining.

The west London venue is hosting its maiden 50/50 tournament at 8.30pm tonight. The buy-in is £25 + £25 Bounty + £3 - and for that players will get a starting stack of 10,000 chips. An optional £5 will give players an extra 5,000 bonus chips. There's an extra 1,000 chips on offer to early bird arrivals too. Blinds start at 25/50 with a 20 minute clock. As the name suggests, half the money will go in the prize pool with the other half going in bounties.


“We think this will be a cracking tournament, NO ONE else offers this kind of innovative tournament anywhere in London! With such a large bounty you will be free-rolling in no time as you knock out players on your way to victory!” read a statement from the Western.


And if you really want to torment yourself with the World Cup action, they'll be showing the game on a big screen.
