NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship matches announced

The NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship – or NBC NHUPC as the cool kids call it – is not a display of the world’s best 64 players but is the talking point for most of them. The Twitter feed from poker pros this morning was buzzing with NBC draws and announcing their matches. Expect to see a lot of #NBCNHUPC tweets.

The sixty-four players who enter the event generally make up a mix of the old guard, celebrities and new poker players who are currently A-list. This means that joining Chris Ferguson, Mike Matusow and Phil Gordon are comedians Don Cheadle and Jason Alexander as well as online poker legends such as Daniel “jungleman12” Cates. No Isildur1, though – he’s not 21 yet.
The players whittle the field down to 16 tonight and return tomorrow for the final match-ups. The first round draw is as follows:
