After setting a new record in Barcelona (77 entries), the latest EPT €50,000 Super High Roller is now down to just nine players and leading the way is Denmark's Morten Klein.

Having helped create a top prize worth almost €300,000 more than last season, Day 2's surviving cohort managed to whittle themselves down from 53 to a more manageable nine as the session progressed.

Along the way a host of big name players, including Vanessa Selbst, John Juanda and Ole Schemion, all found themselves crashing out just before the money.

However, the most disappointing finish of the day went to Tony Gregg. With the aforementioned Klein on a roll and picking up almost every pot in play, Gregg decided to make a stand with Kc Qd.

Unfortunately, after Sven Reichardt called with pocket tens the race was on. However, things were quickly brought to an end for Gregg after the As Td 6c 2d Qh board sent him to the rail in 12th place, one short of the money.

With the bubble burst and everyone guaranteed at least €92,400, Klein was able to bag up his 3,740,000 chips and lead the likes of Dan Shak, ONE DROP winner, Dan Colman, and Sam Trickett one step closer to the €1,016,700 top prize.
