More High Stakes Poker season 7 details – Norm MacDonald to host

We knew that the lack of Full Tilt players on the upcoming seventh season of High Stakes Poker would make a major difference to the show but now another has been announced – Gabe Kaplan, host for the past six seasons, will not be presenting the action in season seven from February 26.

Norm MacDonald, a famously deadpan US comedian and TV host, will be taking over the master of ceremonies position from long-time host and poker player Kaplan. MacDonald plays some poker himself and has made deep runs in the World Series of Poker Main Event in the past. His style will be more directly humorous and will likely let the action speak for itself.


Kara Scott will once again be joining the cast for behind-the-scenes reporting and tableside interviews when the new series begins on February 26. In addition, those US viewers with 3D TV can enjoy poker in 3D... for some reason. Why not?


The full cast of players has been announced with a lot of amateurs, spearheaded by regular cash game player and businessman Mike Baxter, making their presence felt at the table. Vanessa Selbst, Jonathan Duhamel and Haralabos Voulgaris all make their debut appearances on the show.
