Mizzi heads Asia Millions final table

Mizzi heads Asia Millions final table

Friday, 7 June 2013

The starting field of 51 runners at the PokerStars GuangDong Ltd Asia Millions is down to a final table of eight with Sorel Mizzi leading the chase for the $4,464,516 first prize.

The Canadian will return to the PokerStars LIVE at the City of Dreams in Macau later today with a stack of 28,300,000 followed by Chinese player Zheng Teng who has 24,300,000. They may sound like monster stacks but given that the blinds will be 500,000/1,000,000 when play resumes then things could change extremely rapidly.

The eight-player final table is rounded out by Igor Kurganov, Pratyush Buddiga, Jeffrey Rossiter, Anson Yan Shing, Tsang, Niklas Heinecker and Ike Haxton.

Rono Lo was the luckless bubble boy, and with a min-cash of $774,193, quite the bubble it was too. Lo let his stack dwindle to fewer than two big blinds before taking a stand with Qc10c. Unfortunately for Lo, he ran into Aussie Jeffrey Rossiter's aces which held to send the Hong Kong player to the rail with nothing to show for his efforts.

The final table chip counts and seat positions are as follows:

Seat 1: Igor Kurganov (Germany) -- 18,400,000
Seat 2: Pratyush Buddiga (Canada) -- 13,075,000
Seat 3: Jeffrey Rossiter (Australia) -- 12,825,000
Seat 4: Anson Yan Shing Tsang (Hong Kong) -- 5,750,000
Seat 5: Sorel Mizzi (Canada) -- 28,300,000
Seat 6: Niklas Heinecker (Germany) -- 15,275,000
Seat 7: Isaac 'Ike' Haxton (Malta) -- 7,075,000
Seat 8: Zheng Tang (China) -- 24,300,000

Here's what they'll be playing for:

1. $4,464,516
2. $3,161,290
3. $2,077,419
4. $1,616,129
5. $1,316,129
