Mike “Timex” McDonald leads EPT Madrid into Day 3

Day 2 of EPT Madrid has concluded with 116 players surviving to Day 3. Leading the way is former EPT champion Mike “Timex” McDonald, who bagged up 409,800 chips to end the day with over two hundred big blinds.

McDonald won his first EPT title in Dortmund back in 2008 aged just 18, making him the youngest ever EPT champion. He also hopes to be the first player to win two EPT titles, though there is stiff competition in the field below.


McLean Karr, Kevin MacPhee, Johnny Lodden, Olivier Busquet and David Benyamine are all still in the hunt for the €545,000 first prize. Of the 116 remaining players, 72 will reach the money today.


Toby Lewis heads the British challenge with 243,200 with Fraser McIntyre, Barny Boatman, Rupert Elder, James Sudworth and Matthew Frankland all still in the hunt for the €545,000 first prize. A total of 72 players will make the money with the min cash set at €7,500.
