The long-running MicroMillions small stakes tournament series returns to PokerStars next month with a guaranteed prize pool of $5m on offer during the 100 events.
Featuring regular five-figure prize pools and buy-ins ranging from just $0.11 to $11, MicroMillions IX runs from 6-16 November and will feature a wide range of games and formats including Zoom Poker, turbo and knockout events as well as the new Bubble Dash format which will make its first appearance on November 7.Bubble Dash tournaments use variable level timing to enable players to reach the cash relatively quickly (typically about 90 minutes until the bubble bursts). Blinds start at 3 minutes and gradually increase as the tournament progresses. Not only is it quick to cash, but the lengthening blinds provide more play when the big-money decisions are being made.“MicroMillions returns next month for its ninth incarnation, promising low buy-ins and big prizes,” read a statement from PokerStars.“It's quite simply the richest low-stakes championship in poker. It's the tournament series that's open to everyone and played by everyone with buy-ins suited to every conceivable bankroll and now it’s back.”Just as in past MicroMillions, the ninth incarnation of the tournament series will feature the Player of the Series leaderboard contest, which this time will award the top-performing competitor with Sunday Million tickets for the next six months. There will also be five Sunday Million tickets each for the second to tenth-placed players in addition to one seat for everyone placing eleventh to 100th.“Undoubtedly, the headline event of the entire series will be the $22 buy-in main event, taking place on November 16 featuring an extraordinary $1 million guaranteed prize pool,” read the statement from PokerStars.“As you would expect, the appeal of this last event is enormous with 57,885 players competing in the event during MicroMillions VIII in July.”
