Meulyzer heads EPT Snowfest with 81 left

Wednesday, 23 March 2011

Just 81 of the 482 EPT Snowfest starters are still in the running for the title at the close of Day 2 with Philip Meulyzer leading the pack with 623,500 chips, over 100,000 ahead of closest rival Giacomo Maisto on 517,500.

EPT Copenhagen winner Michael Tureniec is still on course for an unprecedented double. The Swede's dream of back to back victories could still happen as he ended the day in tenth on the leader board with a very manageable stack.

Team PokerStars pro Luca Pagano's usual EPT cash looks a near certainty too. The Italian closed the day in seventh place on 351,400 and if nine players bust out before him he will pocket an 18th, yes you read that correctly, an 18th EPT cash.

The British challenge is headed by Day 1A chip leader Martins Adeniya who has 227,000 with Jack Powell on 157,400 and Aussie Millions runner up James Keys on 55,900.

The money bubble looks set to burst early in the day with the top 72 finisher guaranteed a €5,250 pay day.
