Max Silver Going for UKIPT Gold in Dublin

Max Silver Going for UKIPT Gold in Dublin

Monday, 3 March 2014

There's something about Ireland and Max Silver that seem to go well together as the British grinder will once again find himself at a UKIPT Dublin final table today.

After grinding through the masses in the Irish capital, Silver managed to finish yesterday's penultimate session as the third largest stack in the room behind Robert Sturman and local qualifier Kevin Killeen who scooped 3,505,000 chips.

Also putting in another stunning performance and overcoming more than 600 players to make another UKIPT final table was Joeri Zandvliet. The Dutch grinder won UKIPT Dublin in 2011 and will start today's finale in the middle of the pack. He will certainly be a threat despite all eyes being on Silver.

Yesterday's session came to a close when Benjamin Senior's search for a silver lining came up short courtesy of Max Silver. Despite holding the lead with pocket tens over Silver's Qd 7d, the board rolled out 8h 7c 9d Qh 5c to send him to the cashiers' desk to collect his €6,950 consolation prize.

Following the conclusion of the final pot a jubilant final eight players bagged up their chips ahead of today's final table when a top prize of €87,700 will be on the line.
