Mario Puccini leading EPT Loutraki after Day 1b.

Thursday, 17 November 2011

As expected, Day 1b of EPT Loutraki attracted a far larger crowd than Day 1a with almost 200 players registering for the second flight. At the end of play, Mario Puccini (believe it or not, a German) leads the field with 159,150.

Romanian Team PokerStars pro Toni Judet is also riding high with 143,500 chips with Jonian Antoni, Grudi Grudev, Christos Ntikos, Georgios Zisimopoulos and Vitalijs Zavorotnijs also in the six-figure stack club.

Other notable survivors from the second flight included Kevin Macphee, Johnny Lodden, Carlo Citrone, Jeff Sarwer and Jude Ainsworth. Fortune wasn't smiling for Vanessa Rousso though. Joining her on the rail were the likes of Theo Jorgensen, Marvin Rettenmaier and Randy “nanonoko” Lew whose 24-tabling skills didn’t help him out this time.

A total of 232 players will be back for day 2 with Julian Herold and McLean Karr leading the day 1a challengers.

A total prize pool of €1,344,000 is up for grabs with 48 players making the money. The winner is set to walk away with a first prize of €347,000.
