Season Five of the Amateur Poker Association and Tour (APAT) drew to a close at the Rendezvous Casino in Brighton over the weekend with Marie Sherwood taking the honours.
Marie outlasted a field of 124 runners in APAT's European Championship event, pocketing a first prize of £2,780 plus a seat in the 888 Poker SuperStack event at Star City in Birmingham, for her efforts.The key heads up hand saw all the chip go in on a board in which Jonathan Walker had turned a straight with Sherwood holding two-pair and a flush draw.
