Manchester United are one of the world's richest football clubs and they've expanded their global empire even further with the launch of a new social poker offering.
Wayne Rooney, fresh from his controversial penalty at Preston, was on hand for Tuesday's launch, alongside fellow United stars Jonny Evans, Rafael, Tyler Blackett and Anders Lindegaard.Created by KamaGames, the new free-play poker is available to play on Facebook, online or via a mobile app. Although no cash is on offer, players can win a selection of United goodies including tickets, memorabilia, trips and access to special events.“Manchester United Social Poker is a new and exciting way for our fans to not only interact with the Club but also with each other,” said Manchester United Group managing director. “KamaGames is one of the industry’s leading developers in this area and we are pleased to be teaming up with them to offer these products. This is just the first social casino game to be launched as part of the partnership and we are looking forward to introducing fans to many more.”In addition to poker, the new social casino will also include free-play slots, roulette and blackjack.“KamaGames and Manchester United have many things in common, sharing the same dedication to excellence and providing our players with best game experiences possible,” said Danny Hammett, CEO of KamaGames. “We will continue to innovate and entertain the Manchester United Global fan base through our Social Poker Game as well with our soon coming Social Casino.”This latest launch isn't the first time that United have been involved in poker. Sam Trickett won a special partypoker-sponsored special event at Old Trafford in 2014 and a team representing United led by former full back Denis Irwin won poker's European Champions Cup in 2013.
