Next month's EPT Malta festival is all set to be a biggie. In fact tour organisers PokerStars are predicting it will be the biggest event in EPT history.
A record 69 events are scheduled at The Casino at Portimaso between 17 and 28 March as well as 30 cash game tables.“It’s with great pleasure that we bring the EPT to Malta,” said Michael Holmberg, General Manager of PokerStars Europe. “We’ve been working behind the scenes for many months to make this event happen, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome poker players from all over the world to the home of PokerStars Europe.“Our biggest tournament schedule ever, combined with one of the most favorable climates on the planet, will make EPT Malta a truly memorable event.” That festival includes of course the showpiece €5,300 Main Event which takes place from 24-28 March. Other highlights include the €1,100 IPT Malta Main Event which is expected to attract a hude field. For those players with deep pockets there's the high roller double whammy - a €25,500 buy-in on March 18, and a €10,300 buy-in on March 27, each with an optional single re-entry. Players will also have the chance to help a worthy cause in Malta via an invitation only charity event on 21 March which will raise funds for PokerStars' charity partner Right to Play.Fatima Moreira de Melo, Team PokerStars SportStar and Right To Play ambassador, said: “For me, one of the most fun ways to raise money and awareness for charity is by playing poker. Right To Play is a fantastic charity that I’m honored to be associated with, and I can’t wait to represent them at EPT Malta.”
