Wednesday, 9 December 2015

The Prague stop of the European Poker Tour (EPT) tournament series is currently underway with Luuk Gieles currently leading its €50,000 ($54,705) buy-in super high-roller event.

After one day of play, the Dutchman finished atop of a field of 51 runners and became the only player to crack the million chip mark with a stack of 1,020,000.

The starting field for today’s second day of play also includes the likes of Ole Schemion with 752,000 chips as well as Sylvain Loosli holding 725,000, Igor Kurganov clutching 666,000 and Thomas Muehloecker embracing 652,000.

Businessman turned high stakes regular Paul Newey heads the UK challenge with 384,000 chips while Stephen Chidwick is also flying high on 296,000.

All told, 33 players made it through to the second day with notable casualties including Adrian Mateos, Juha Helppi and Bluff Europe November cover star John Juanda. The eliminated can always spend another €50,000 for a second go as registration remains open until lunchtime today.
