The big names were out in force last night for the first running of the Genting Poker Big Game at the Fox Poker Club with Luke Schwartz eventually taking the honours.
The event formerly known as the Palm Beach Big Game looks like it will be even more popular at its new Shaftesbury Avenue home with plenty of top pros in attendance at last night's opener. Among the runners were Hendon Mobster Joe Beevers, Genting Poker Series winner Albert Sapiano, recent WPT South Africa runner up Jerome Bradpiece and last year's WPT Vienna High Roller champ McLean Karr.None could match Luke Schwartz though, who followed up a final table finish at GUKPT Luton last month with a victory in the £1,000+£80 Big Game. Holding the chip lead, _FullFlush_ agreed a chop when play was four handed which saw him take £13,000 and the all important first place entry for the Hendon Mob database. The full payouts were as follows:1st - Luke Schwartz £13,000 + title 2nd - Choraria Kamal £10,0003rd - Tom Kettel - £9,000 4th - Dennis Boughey - £6,000 The next Genting Big Game takes place on Monday 3rd December. The Fox Poker Club is also the venue for the Grand Final of this year's Genting Poker Series which kicks off on 6th December and features a whopping £200,000 guaranteed prize pool. Qualifiers are up and running for both at GentingPoker.com.
