Luke Schwartz heads GUKPT Luton

Saturday, 20 October 2012

Luke Schwartz is the man to beat heading into day 2 of the £1,000+£70 GUKPT Luton Main Event. _FullFlush_ closed the day with a very healthy stack of 179,100 putting him just ahead of this month’s Palm Beach Big Game winner Matthew Perry who returns with 145,575.

Nine flights of action at the G Casino saw the opening field of 155 starters whittled down to just 63 but there are many notable names among that number. Nicely placed in the top ten in the chip counts are Bluff Europe columnists Jeff Kimber 100,275 and Ben Jackson 95,875.

Further back are the likes of Karl Mahrenholz (70,900), Genting Poker Series winner Yucel’Mad Turk’ Eminoglu (68,625), Sunny Chattha (65,000), Roberto Romanello (50,000), former Irish Open champ James Mitchell (35,300), Teddy Sheringham (34,275) and Dave ‘Devilfish’ Ulliott (20,000).

The chip leaders are as follows:

Luke Schwartz - 179,100

Shaun Conning - 116,125
Jeff Kimber - 100,275
