With 50 tournaments, eight Main Events and £1m in prize money up for grabs throughout September, the London Poker Festival has something to offer pretty much everyone.
What better way to unwind after a hard day at the tables than with a nice cold drink and a good laugh. Both will be on offer in abundance throughout the Festival courtesy of some spectacular parties and some great comedy nights. Festival organisers Bluff Europe will be holding a party on the 27th of September, at the Bluff @the Mint card room; the Party is an open invitation for Bluff readers and poker fans to come and experience Bluff Europe LIVE at the magnificent South Kensington card room. As well as a £50 freezeout, there will be a free food buffet and a prize scratch card for all attendees, plus instant-win prizes in cash games. Players who have taken part in Unibet Open events know just how spectacular their parties are and this year’s Players’ Party at Proud2 (part of the O2 Arena) on 15th September promises to be no exception. Meanwhile, the exclusive English Poker Open launch party will be hosted on board HMS President on Victoria Embankment on 17th September, with its stunning views of London and the Thames. The party immediately follows the British Poker Awards at the same venue, so expect all the movers and shakers of the UK poker scene to be in attendance. Players and fans looking for a giggle should head to The Casino at the Empire which will be hosting comedy nights in its Shadow Bar venue. Alistair Barrie takes to the mic on Sunday 2nd September, with award-winning comic Zoe Lyons strutting her stuff on 15th September. Doors open at 7.30pm with the shows starting at 8pm. Entry is £15 or £10 with the London Poker Festival booklet, available at all participating card rooms. For full details of all events, visit www.LondonPokerFestival.com.
