Leigh Wiltshire Wins Sky Poker UKPC

Leigh Wiltshire Wins Sky Poker UKPC

Monday, 18 August 2014

The finale of Sky Poker's latest UK Poker Championships played out last night and when the betting had finished it was Leigh Wiltshire who claimed the £110,000 top prize.

As the final six players gathered inside Dusk Till Dawn's gaming area on Sunday for the final roll of the dice it was Abhishek Khaitan leading the way.

After cutting his way through the masses and raking in almost 12 million chips, Khaitan was the clear favourite as the final session got underway.
However, with Stephen Devlin and Andy Young still in contention, Khaitan's reign at the top wasn't going to be easy.

Indeed, as the action developed the British grinder almost buckled on the pressure, but after the aforementioned Devlin and Young fell in third and fourth, respectively, it was Wiltshire that began to shine.

Some aggressive bluffs and all-in moves characterised the heads-up battle between Khaitan and Wiltshire, but when the dust settled it was the latter that came out on top.

With his K-Q winning the final race against Khaitan's pocket tens, Wiltshire was not only crowned the latest Sky Poker UKPC champion, but handed a winner's prize worth £110,000.

Abhishek Khaitan - £70,000
Stephen Devlin - £40,000
