Lavallee heads EPT San Remo final table

Thursday, 11 October 2012

The starting field of 797 players at EPT San Remo is down to a final table of eight with Jason Lavallee leading the hunt for the €800,000 first prize.

The Canadian returns with a stack of 5,545,000 chips, just ahead of Ludovic Lacay. The French pro has reached WSOP, EPT and WPT final tables but never claimed a major title but is well placed on 5,366,000.

The EPT San Remo title has remained in British hands for the past few years and it could be making the short hop over the Irish Sea this time around should Jason Tompkins' good run continue. The 27-year-old from Kildare earned his biggest live score of $86,000 at this year's WSOP and returns in third with 3,605,000.

Rounding out the international final table are Germany's Ismael Bojang 2,845,000, Poland's Adrian Piasecki 2,045,000, American Micah Raskin 1,550,000, Italy's Angelo Recchio 1,755,000 with Russia's Artem Litvinov the short stack at 800,000.

The action resumes at 3pm local time (2pm UK time), with blinds of 25,000/50,000 and 5,000 ante. Railbirds can follow the action as it happens courtesy of a live stream from PokerStars.tv.
