Lacay Leads EPT Prague after Day 3

Lacay Leads EPT Prague after Day 3

Monday, 16 December 2013

Having broken the 1,000 player barrier over the weekend and built up a prizepool of more than €5 million, this year's EPT Prague Main Event burst its bubble as 61 hopefuls made it through Day 3. At the start of the session a sea of pros were fighting for the €889,000 top prize, but as chips flew and players hit the rail it was Ludovic Lacay who gradually ascended to the top of the chip counts.

Knowing what it's like to taste success on the tour - thanks to an outright win last season at EPT San Remo - Lacay displayed a cool temperament as three players fell simultaneously to send the tournament into the money stages. In a first for the EPT, a trio of eliminations meant there was no official bubble and the remaining 151 players were all guaranteed at least €8,600.

With at least a few thousands Euros locked up a number of pros, including Dominik Nitsche, Bertrand 'ElkY' Grospellier and former chip leader Amir Lehavot, hit the rail whilst Lacay led an equally strong group of players towards Day 4.

Today's session will kick off later and is expected to play down to around 16 players and hoping to be in the mix when things come to a close will be the likes of Ole Schemion (1,030,000), Stephen Chidwick (864,000), Max Silver (554,000) and Jonathan Roy (217,000).
