Katja Thater crowned EPT Mixed Game champion

Katja Thater has been confirmed as this year's European Poker Tour Mixed Game Champion. The German won an 8-runner final table online tournament hosted by PokerStars that featured Limit Triple Draw 2-7, Limit Hold’em, Limit Omaha H/L, Limit Razz, Limit Stud, Limit Stud H/L, No Limit Hold’em and Pot Limit Omaha.

The final lasted just over four hours with Thater seeing of challenges from Benjamin Kang, Alex Kravchenko, Scott Clements, Mike Gorodinsky, Matthias Kuerschner and former WSOP Main Event winner Joe Hachem to set up a heads up clash with Finland's Ilari Tahkokalio. Thater overcame a chip deficit thanks to a big Razz win before sealing the win in Stud 8 after hitting two pair to beat the Finn's Jacks.


As well as the Player of the Year trophy, Thater also wins a package to the opening event of the new EPT season in Tallinn, Estonia on 11th August. If you'd like to join her there, satellites will be up an running on PokerStars from 28th June.
