130 players started Day 2 at the World Poker Tour event in the northern French town of Amneville yesterday and by the close just 48 were still in contention for the title.

Leading the way was Nesrin Kourdourli who had amassed a stack of 957,000 chips by bagging up time, almost 200,000 ahead of closest rival Tyler Cornel. Ilan Boujenah is third on 743,000 followed by Day 1A chip leader Jean Paul Pasquilani who is on 708,000.

John Eames with 298,000 and Paul Coughlan 260,000 head the challenge from this side of the Channel in 25th and 28th place respectively. Both have stacks just short of the average.

All 48 remaining players are now in the money and are guaranteed at least a €7,000 pay day. The action resumes at 1pm UK time when the field will be whittled down to a final table of eight who will fight it out for the €433,000 first prize.
