Jonathan Duhamel joins Team PokerStars Pro

Wednesday, 12 January 2011

So, er... apparently this is news. Jonathan Duhamel has joined Team PokerStars Pro. Yup, we thought he was already a member of the team as well.

Duhamel becomes the sixth of the last ten World Series of Poker Main Event champions to don the PokerStars colours after Chris Moneymaker (2003), Joe Hachem (2005), Peter Eastgate (2008), Greg Raymer (2004) and Joe Cada (2009) all pledged their allegiance to the red spade.

"I want to be playing the biggest tournaments in the world," Duhamel said. "I'm going to do my best to pull off another big score."

The PokerStars patches have bought their team luck in the past – Joe Hachem has won over $3.2m in live tournaments since his 2005 victory in the Main Event, including the WPT Five Diamond in 2006 for over $2.2m. Peter Eastgate won over a million dollars in the year since his Main Event win before retiring age 24; Chris Moneymaker is currently in contention for the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure title.
