Poker received some more mainstream publicity last night after Isaac Haxton appeared on one of the world's top rated podcasts, The Joe Rogan Experience.
Sporting his trademark PokerStars patch, Haxton did an impressive job of breaking down poker in a way the listeners would understand as well as showing a lighter side to his personality. The decision to have a professional poker player on his show is nothing new for Rogan - he once spoke to US pro Matt Vengrin - but the bulk of the discussion was certainly a departure from his usual content. However, in typically inquisitive and thoughtful fashion, Rogan seemed to appreciate the sort of nuances and skills players such as Ike bring to the game. Away from the podcast itself, the fact another high powered public spotlight was shone on the game is another step forward for the industry. In between sponsors such as Milka and Skullcandy lending their brands to the EPT and more celebrities attracting sponsorship deals, poker's image seems to be growing across the globe. Check out Haxton's three-hour chat with Mr. Rogan below.
