A total of 61 players started the day at Aspers Casino in Northampton at 3pm on Saturday with the winner only being decided as the clock neared five o'clock on Sunday morning.
That winner was Helena Brett who steadily worked her way through the field after starting the final table fifth in chips. With play three-handed Brett managed a very handy double up that put her in prime position. She bet 16,000 into a 3-4-5 flop only to see Kim Jagger re-raise all in. Brett snap called revealing 6-7 for the made straight which was way out in front of Jagger's J-5.The end came shortly after with Jagger again pushing all in, this time with Q-10, with Brett calling with a dominating K-10. The board helped neither player leaving Brett to celebrate a £2,280 win plus a seat in the end of season play off where a £20,000 Betfred sponsorship package can be won. Jagger was forced to settle with £1,520 for her second place finish. The Betfred Ladies Tour heads to TC's Sports Club in Maidenhead for its next leg on 7th August followed by a stop at the Broadway Casino in Birmingham on 4th September. Organisers has also announced that the scheduled event in Calahonda in Spain has been cancelled and will now take place at the Alea Casino in Leeds on 25th September.Qualifiers are up and running at Betfred Poker.
