Gus Hansen's Late WSOP Arrivial

Gus Hansen's Late WSOP Arrivial

Monday, 16 June 2014

There have been some novel excuses for arriving late at this year's World Series of Poker.

A stolen passport combined with lax French bureaucracy did for ElkY while Antonio Esfandiari succumbed to a nasty illness.

The gold award for the fashionably tardy arrival of 2014 goes to Gus Hansen though. The Dane has been in Las Vegas for a fortnight but has yet to take to the tables at the Rio. And the reason for his most recent non-appearance? Believe it or not, a pool party.

Gus first took to Twitter to advise fans of his World Series plans.

Then, a day later revealed why it didn't happen.

Gus will no doubt be hoping that his tournament form is better than what's been happening in the online cash games. The Full Tilt pro is the year's biggest loser, down over $3.5m in 2014 according to HighStakesDB.com.
