Gus Hansen, Ram Vaswani in £10,000 heads-up final four

Gus Hansen, Ram Vaswani in £10,000 heads-up final four

Thursday, 23 September 2010

The strong turnout for the £10,300 High Roller heads-up event at the World Series of Poker Europe has been diminished considerably, though no normal player would want to compete against any of the semi-finalists who are all guaranteed £96,212 with a top prize of £288,409 for the bracelet winner.

Still in the hunt for that bracelet is WSOP bracelet-winning Hendon Mobster Ram Vaswani, who beat out Yevgeniy Timoshenko; Marius Torbergsen and Kevin Eyester to get his spot in the final four. Another crazy player in the field is none other than Gus Hansen, who beat Full Tilt colleague Phil Ivey to the final eight after eliminating Mark Everett.

Joining them is Jim Collopy who busted Huck Seed (rumour has it $25,500 Heads-Up WCOOP champion RaiseOnce is in fact Seed) to advance to the final four. He will play Vaswani today while Gus Hansen takes on Andrew Feldman.

The prospect of a Vaswani-Hansen final is titillating stuff, with both players super-aggressive and bluffy it should be a really fun match. Hansen vs. Collopy and Vaswani vs. Feldman kick off at 3pm with each player holding just under a million in chips by this stage.
