Players in the midlands have yet to sample the delights offered by Grosvenor's 25/25 but that's about to change as the series heads to Birmingham tonight.
The second city's G Casino on Hill Street (not the one on Broad Street) is the venue for the £200+£20 event with the first of three opening flights starting at 7.30pm. Flight 2 starts at noon on Saturday with third and final flight following at 7.45pm. One re-entry is allowed in each flight. The clock is set at 40 minutes on each day one flight before being extended to 45 minutes when play resumes at noon on Sunday. Stacks start at 25,000 chips. There's a guaranteed prize pool of £25,000 to be had but if previous 25/25 stops elsewhere in the country are anything to go by then the booty should be much larger. A bumper field at the last tournament in Blackpool almost tripled the guarantee.Grosvenor Casinos have also announced details of four more midland 25/25 events. The full schedule can be seen below:G Casino, Coventry 28th Feb – 2nd MarchGrosvenor Casino, Leicester 11th – 13th AprilGrosvenor Casino, Nottingham 23rd – 25th May G Casino, Walsall 27th – 29th JuneWe caught up with Grosvenor's Head of Poker Russell Tamplin who filled us in on all there is to know about the 25/25 and the GUKPT.
