Organizers of the Genting Poker Series have announced details of the 2015 tour which will feature an expanded line-up of 10 events and a prize pool of almost £750,000.
The tour wil make maiden visits to Liverpool Queens Square, Luton, Reading and the new Genting super casino in Birmingham.Buy-ins will remain the same at £400+£40 with guarantees set at £100,000. In addition the 2015 GPS will also see the launch of the GPS Mini. These £30,000 guaranteed events will be played over four days and features a very affordable buy-in at £200 + £20.After a brief hiatus last year, Colin McTaggart will be resuming his duties at tour Tournament Director.“Our poker events continue to evolve and what makes the GPS special is the mix of recreational players and professionals that it attracts,” said Kevin Proctor, Poker Manager at Genting UK. “In fact online qualifiers have a great record of scalping the big names in the GPS. Every year though, we review player feedback from right across the country and there is clearly an appetite for a mix of main events and mini events within the GPS in this, its fourth year. Players love the deep stack format, but, for many recreational poker players committing the time to play a main event is a difficult balance with their everyday lives. That said, our structures mean that in both formats, every player can enjoy plenty of action, no matter what the standard of their game and of course, the action on the side tables is invariably very strong too!"The full schedule is as follows:1 Star City 4 - 8 February 2015 Main Event £400 + £40 £100,0002 Westcliff 18- 21 March 2015 Main Event £400 + £40 £100,0003 Newcastle 15 - 19 April 2015 Main Event £400 + £40 £100,0004 Reading 14 – 17 May 2015 GPS Mini £200 + £20 £30.000*5 Liverpool QS 17 -20 June 2015 GPS Mini £200 + £20 £30.000*6 Luton 16 – 19 July 2015 GPS Mini £200 + £20 £30.000*7 GIC Birmingham TBC GPS Mini £200 + £20 £30.000*8 Stoke 2 - 6 September 2015 Main Event £400 + £40 £100,0009 Edinburgh 30 Sept - 4 Oct 2015 Main Event £400 + £40 £100,00010 Sheffield 28 Oct - 1 Nov 2015 Main Event £400 + £40 £100,000* Prizes include 9 guaranteed seats for a GPS Main Event for the final table.
