The action in the opening few events at the London leg of the GUKPT at the Vic has been just as hot as expected.
Pavlov Iacovou took the honours in the £300 No Limit Hold'em freezout, outlasting a field of 179 runners to take the first prize of £15,400. 120 players bought into the £500 No Limit Hold'em event but none could match Alli Mallu who picked up his second tour victory of 2010 and the small matter of £17,900. Adam White took the £500 Pot Limit Omaha Double Chance freezeout title for £9,100 with Kevin Kirby collecting £9,400 after winning the £200 No Limit Hold'em event. All event winners also won a seat in the Champion of Champions event. There are three more side events to be won before the Main Event starts on Thursday and Friday. It's just become even easier to enter GUKPT Main Events too after organisers announced that players can buy in directly online. Partiipants can register up to the day before the start of the Main Event by visiting the Land Based section of www.bluesq.com and selecting the GUKPT 2010 tab. There are separate lobbies for both opening days so players can pick and choose when they want to play. Online entry is only currently available for GUKPT Main Events but the service should be on offer for side events, Club Championships and the Summer Series in the near future.
