Dedication, that’s what you need if you want to be a record breaker and Lee Rawson showed it in abundance after winning last year's record-breaking GUKPT Goliath event. Rawson pocketed a massive first prize of £32,705 after outlasting the largest field in European land-based tournament history of 1,765 runners.

This year’s £100+£20 buy-in event promises to be even bigger and better with 2,500 players expected to hit the tables at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry from 22nd to 27th August 2012.


Players at this year’s event can choose from three starting days featuring late and re-entry. Competitors will be battling it out for a guaranteed prize pool of £100,000 with the winner walking away with a minimum top prize of £25,000. Extra prizes are on offer for the 2012 Goliath Team Challenge too. Starters will get a 25,000 starting stack and 40 minute clock for their £100+£20 with 25% of the entrance fee donated to Marie Curie Cancer Care. All the action will be live streamed every day from a feature table.


The Goliath Team Challenge is already accepting entrants. Up to six players may compete in a team, their in-the-money finishers contributing points to their total score. The highest scoring team earns a plethora of prizes including entry into next year’s event and a $1,000 private online tournament, while their top two finishers earn £1,000 GUKPT Main Event seats.
