Former WSOP finalist Al Krux arrested for marijuana possession

Al Krux has joined the ranks of David Saab and Mike Matusow by being arrested for drug charges following poker success. Krux, along with his son Adam, were arrested after police discovered 40lbs of cannabis and 90 plants at Al’s home.

Not one of the most recognisable names in the poker world, Al Krux has nevertheless had a lot of success on the live poker scene. Among his $1.4m in lifetime tournament earnings are a WSOP bracelet ($1,500 Pot-Limit Hold ‘em) and three Main Event final tables, most recently in 2004 where he finished sixth for $800,000.


Search warrants were issued after tips were given regarding suspicious activity at the Krux residence in DeWitt, New York. The 68-year-old Krux was found in his vehicle with 25lbs of marijuana while his son was discovered separately with 15lbs. To put it in perspective, 1lb of cannabis is worth approximately £3,000 ($5,000 USD).
