FeltStars, one of the few remaining online poker sites serving the US, has unexpectedly closed its virtual doors.
Despite being a relatively new site on the block, FeltStars sent an email to its customers this week announcing that they would cease trading immediately. The email also instructed players to transfer any funds to another Merge skin. “The entire FeltStars Team would like to thank all of our loyal players for at the years you have played poker on FeltStars. We are saddened to announce that we will be leaving online poker and no longer offer these services on our website.”A number of well known pros, including UK tournament star Matt Perrins and Chris “Fox” Wallace, signed up to represent the site. However, according to the latter, “getting paid was impossible, all kinds of shady things popped up about the site in the past, and I couldn't get anything done.”Quite what went on at the company will probably not be known, but if things were as bad as Wallace describes then it’s probably a good thing the site has closed its operation.
