Saturday, 31 March 2012

Fabrice Soulier is the man to beat heading into the final of the PokerStars EPT Campione. The French pro returns with a stack of 3,480,000, around 370,000 ahead of closest challenger, American Olivier Busquet.

The Campione final table will be a truly international affair with eight nationalities represented. Previous days chip leaders Jannick Wrang from Denmark and Hungarian Balazs Botond are next followed by Belgium's Koen de Visscher, Italian Stefano Puccilli, Germany's Mario Nagel and Swede Robin Ylitalo.

British hopes ended with David Vamplew's elimination in tenth place. The Scot's hopes at becoming the first double winner on the EPT stalled when his top pair ran into Olivier Busquet's flopped two pair. Ronny Kaiser, the other former EPT winner departed early on the proceedings, busting out in 22nd for €15,000.

The chip counts of the final table players are as follows:

Balazs Botond 2,080,000
Koen De Visscher 1,856,000
