FTOPS XVII begins; 34 events offer $19,000,000 guarantee

The eighteenth – yes, eighteenth! – run of Full Tilt Poker's flagship online tournament series began on Wednesday with the first few of 34 events that will offer a prize pool of at least nineteen million dollars over the next eleven days.

Obviously NL is the primary game but PLO, HORSE, 8-game and the new draw poker variants introduced to Full Tilt will be on offer during the course of the 34 events. November Nine runner-up John Racener hosted the first event; a $216 buy-in NL event with a $800,000 guarantee.


The series concludes with a $640 Main Event that guarantees a prize pool of $3,000,000 and is hosted by Full Tilt Poker’s newest bracelet winner, Gus Hansen. It is the last of six events with a guarantee of more than a million dollars with the $1,060 6-max NL ($1.25m guaranteed) being the High Roller special.


You can qualify to any FTOPS event on the super-cheap using Full Tilt Points or cash satellites which run from as little as $3.30. Considering FTOPS buy-ins range from $109 to $1,060 that’s some good value.
