Federated Sport and Gaming's new pro league has been given a new name – The Epic Poker League.

The brainchild of former WSOP big cheese Jeffrey Pollack and Annie Duke, The Epic Poker League gets under way in August and will feature a quartet of $20,000 buy-in, rake free Main Events alongside pro-am and charity tournaments. 218 of the biggest names in the game have been invited to take part in the new series which will culminate in a huge freeroll early next year. The 27 players with the highest earning during the regular season events will battle it out for a share of a $1m prize pool.

"This is no ordinary tournament league," said Jeffrey Grosman, chief operating officer of FS+G. "Our fields will be some of the toughest in poker history and we expect the competition to be nothing less than epic. In selecting a name that could live up to the players' incredible skill and talent, epic was a natural fit.”

Players set to take part include Erik Seidel, Phils Ivey and Hellmuth, Barry Greenstein, Tom 'Durrrr' Dwan, Roland de Wolfe and Sam Trickett. To see the complete 218 player line up click here.
