Emil Olsson wins WPT Copenhagen

Monday, 19 November 2012

A Swede has been crowned Prince of Denmark. The Swede in question, Emil Olsson, outlasted a 229-runner field to take the WPT Copenhagen title over the weekend.

Olsson started the day as the chip leader but his path to victory was not a smooth one and he need a fair bit of luck to get heads up. Pocket 4s proved to be his talisman not once but twice, winning a flip against A8 then cracking pocket 10s, both times at the expense of the unfortunate Philip Jacobsen.

The Swede didn't need any luck when he did get two-handed with Morten Klein, grinding his way into the chip lead then sealed victory when his pocket Kings held against Klein's K8.

1st Emil Olsson $229,938
2nd Morten Klein $145,164
3rd Philip Jacobsen $93,080
4th Stanislav Barshak $68,316
5th Robin Ylitalo $51,237
6th Jan Djerberg $40,989
