There will be a new venue for this year's European Poker Tour Grand Final after PokerStars revealed that this year's event will take place in Madrid.
The EPT Season 7 finale will take place at the Casino Gran Madrid from 7-12 May and will feature a number of events including a €10,000+€600 Main Event and a €25,000 High Roller.EPT head honcho John Duthie explained the reasons for the new location: “It is with the greatest pleasure that we are able to announce Casino Gran Madrid as the new venue for the EPT Grand Final. We wanted somewhere new, dynamic and inspiring, and knew that Madrid would tick all the boxes for the travelling poker player, regardless of age or desires. The same familiar team will be running the event and the schedule will, I am sure, provide something for everyone. All the usual qualifying satellites will be held on PokerStars and other regional versions of the site, giving all players of all nationalities the opportunity to join us in launching from our new home. Hasta la vista!”Daniel Negreanu added, “I’m excited about the move to Madrid and I’m looking forward to seeing what the capital has to offer. Poker is booming in Spain so you can expect a decent number of local players to attend and ensure a juicy prize pool.”PokerStars have also confirmed that this year's EPT San Remo event will take place from 27 April to 3 May. Liv Boeree won last year's Italian tournament, beating a field of 1,239 runners to take the €1,250,000 first prize.Keep up to date with all the news from the poker world by following us on Twitter and Facebook.
