The Day 3 action at EPT Deauville has just got under way with 205 of the 891 starters still vying for the €880,000 first prize.
It's Sweden's David Sonelin who starts the day in pole position with 438,900 chips, almost 50,000 ahead of closest rivals Fabrice Soullier from France and Russia's Sergey Kislinskiy. Matthew Frankland, with a stack of353,000, heads the UK challenge with fellow Brit Praz Bansi also very much in contention. Amazingly, Bansi has never cashed in an EPT event, something he could remedy today with the bubble set to burst at the 129th placed finisher.A host of big names are nestled in the middle of the chasing pack including the likes if Bertrand 'ElkY' Grospellier, Ludovic Lacay, Isabelle Mercier and Bruno Fitoussi. One big name who won't be returning today is Viktor Blom. Isildur1 started day 2 as one of the big stacks but lost a big pot early on before eventually busting when his pocket 6s couldn't win a race with Cyril Hanouna's A10. Blom now has some time to prepare for his latest Superstar Showdown with Daniel 'Jungleman12' Cates which is scheduled for this Sunday.Other notables to bust out yesterday were Irish Open winner James Mitchell, Nacho Barbero and former November Niner Antoine Saout.Keep up to date with all the news from the poker world by following us on Twitter and Facebook.
