Duhamel robbery suspect trial delayed

Monday, 17 September 2012

The trial of the woman accused of being the brains behind the home invasion of Jonathan Duhamel has been delayed for medical reasons.

Bianca Rojas-Latraverse was scheduled to appear in court on Friday but according to the Montreal Gazette, the 21-year-old's appearance was cancelled after she was involved in what prosecution lawyer Nancy Delorme described as “an incident involving violence” prior to the trial.

Rojas-Latraverse, a former girlfriend of Duhamel, faces five charges relating to a break-in at the former WSOP Main Event winner's home which saw robbers steal a Rolex, over $100,000 in cash and the Canadian's WSOP bracelet. Duhamel was tied and beaten during the incident.

Anthony Bourque, 20, and John Stephen Clark Lemay, 23, the two men accused of carrying out the robbery are expected in court later today.
