Doug Polk's Banking Woes

Doug Polk's Banking Woes

Monday, 15 September 2014

We know just how frustrating it can be to head to the cashpoint and the machine won't dish out any money. We can only imagine how Doug 'WGCRider' Polk felt after the Bank of America froze his bank account.

According to HighStakesDB, the problem occurred when the high stakes pro tried to change his WGCRider screen name to Doug Polk, raising the alarm with BOA security.

Polk was, it's fair to say, a little disgruntled with his treatment and sent out a series of tweets to vent his frustration.

When asked on Twitter why BOA has taken the action it had, Polk replied “they told me they do not reveal that information.”

Polk isn't the only pro who has endured banking troubles. Cole South confirmed, “had the same thing happen to me (and a ton of other poker players) in 2011.”

The timing couldn't have been worse for Polk who was heading to Vancouver to play in the WCOOP.
