Advertising salesman David McConachie was the toast of the Fox Poker Club this weekend after taking the Shaftesbury Avenue venue's March Main Event.
The 31-year-old outlasted a field of over 100 runners that included such notables at World Heads Up Champion Nik Persaud and Hendon Mobster Barny Boatman as well as a host of qualifiers from all over the UK.After agreeing a deal McConachie went heads up against Chaz Chattha for the title and took the honours after his A7 came from behind to beat the Hit Sqaudee's pocket tens. Paul Whiting, Poker Director at the Fox Poker Club said: “We’re proud that the FPC Main Event has become a fixture on the national poker tournament calendar. Events of this prestige give us an opportunity to show off the club to a wider audience and the general membership look forward to it every month.” The next Fox Poker Club Main Event is a three-day, £300+£25 buy-in event running from 7-10 April 2011.
