Victoria Coren bucked the trend of poker players marrying poker players over the weekend when she got hitched to comedian, David Mitchell.
Having dated since 2010, the pair officially confirmed their love for each other in a ceremony held inside St Peter’s Church, Belize Park, London. As with all celebrity weddings a host of famous faces were in attendance including Robert Webb (David’s comedy partner), Jimmy Carr, Giles Coren and Claudia Winkleman.David and Victoria first met in 2007 at a celebrity party but it took David three years of personal musing before he plucked up the courage to take his future bride on a date. Following that he was seen at various poker tournaments trying to look inconspicuous while supporting Victoria.Commenting on his wife, David said: “I think she's amazing. She's brilliant at what she does. For three years I thought about her all the time, and I still do but in a much happier way.”Waves of congratulatory messages were tweeted at Victoria yesterday and after grabbing a moment to reflect she thanked everyone, writing: “Thanks very much for your nice tweets. It was a brilliant day and we're ridiculously happy.”Keep up to date with all the news from the poker world by following us on Twitter and Facebook.
