Chris McClung leads final 64 players into EPT San Remo Day 4.

Day 3 of the European Poker Tour San Remo leg saw the returning field of 144 players reduced to just 64 with each of the Day 4 survivors in the money and guaranteed €12,000 for making it this far. Leading the way is Chris McClung on more than 1.2m chips, the only player to have crossed the seven-figure mark.

McClung burst the bubble by eliminating Christian Troger in 129th place and wound up riding that early momentum to the chip lead. Start-of-day chip leader Joseph “subiime” Cheong had a rollercoaster day but wound up in the top ten chips with 833,000. Joining him in the big stack club are Lex Veldhuis and Johnny Lodden as well as recently-crowned WSOPE champion Elio Fox, who has just under twice the average stack.

Other players returning in the final 64 are Mike McDonald, Vanessa Selbst, Kevin MacPhee and David Bach. The final table will be guaranteed at least €63,694 with the winner taking home a cool €800,000. Will Elio Fox make an awesome double or will Kevin MacPhee match his girlfriend’s victory?
