Poker players will get the chance to show their charitable side this week in a special event at the Loose Cannon Club in London.
The Byte Poker tournament takes place on Tuesday 14th September 2010 with organisers hoping to raise both awareness and cash to help prevent youth homelessness in the UK. The initial buy in is £30 with players getting the opportunity for unlimited rebuys in the first hour for £20. The winner will take away £500 in cash with the runner up earning a seat in the Party Poker Million and the third place finisher getting a £300 watch voucher to use at TimeSquared. Other prizes will be announced on the night. Most of the money from the tournament buy ins will go directly to the charity. It's not just poker that Byte Nite will be using to help prevent homelessness. This October, over 700 people from the IT and business community will give up their bed for one night to experience a little of what it might be like to be homeless. Byte Night events are taking part in London, Cambridge, Manchester, Edinburgh and the Thames valley. The money they raise will help Action for Children tackle the root causes of youth homelessness. If you want to help this very worthy cause then register for the tournament online at Byte Poker Tournament registration.
